All i can say is ....oh i dont have anything nice to say
Some of the not so quality things were the beds, they were hard and very squeaky, at least the one upstairs was. The sliding door, from the dining room to outside, was heavy and difficult to open and the screen had a hole in it. After a while it became too hard for the younger ones to open it so we stopped using it all together. Some of the kitchen could use upgrading like the knifes and cutting board along with the utensils used for cooking. Nothing major. Also there were no ziplock bags or tubberware containers for leftovers.
We rented a house from Timberline when we arrived the house had a dryer full of soured laundry, the TV didn't work, there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and there was about 40 dead flies in the house along the glass sliding door.I called and they told me that I could call dish to get the TV fixed which I did reluctantly, After being on the phone with Dish it was determined that the TV had no signal so I go to Elkins about 25 miles down the mountain to Radio shack to gat a patch cord. The office called and offered to clean the towels but we had already started doing them because of the odor and I had dogs at the house and didn't want anyone coming unannounced and risking letting the dogs out. When the manager called he was adament that the housekeeper cleaned the house properly and he was assured by his housekeeper there was no issues other than the flies and the reason they knew about the flies was because it was unseasonably warm and this was to be expected according to the manager The manager did offer to pay me 25.00 for my trouble and reimburse me for patch cord but told me that we had damaged a chair and he was going to submit an insurance claim, we didn't even use the basement other than use the small refrigerator. I felt that was not enough because I spent 4 hours doing the laundry (the dryer did not heat properly) cleaning the dishes vacuuming and spent 4 ($14.00) gallons of fuel going to Elkins and about 2 hours going back and forward to the RS. Stayed in lot 23, also known as Whitetail Lodge, beautiful house and loved the scenery. Only thing is I wish it had an outside firepit since we stayed during the summer. My family went down to Blackwater falls, which was about 20 minutes from our cabin. My goodness was it beautiful!!! Very nice and friendly staff at the check in building. Had some issues with the hot tub but they sent someone down the same day and resolved the issue quite easily.
My trip there was great but I left some blue Nike shorts and one hiking shoe in condo but your people fail to look for me
The tracks are fun, but the management/owners are not very good at cleaning after snow. We stayed for 3 nights in January. The front park space and house stairs were covered with thick ice. Several people in our group tumbled multiple times because of the ice.
Overall, I would stay again. The scenery alone would make me come back. I would just have to bring more things from home.
