Had a terrific weekend here last year. This weekend was quite wet, but our family still had fun!

One crazy thing that happened was a low-flying supersonic jet passed over in the middle of the day and scare the life out of me! Not sure if there is a military bass or something nearby...

Stayed there while bicycling across the USA. Everyone was great.

If you are tent camping, note that many spots are in direct sunlight and there are lots of RVs. If we went again, we'd reserve a shaded site on the primitive side.

It was such a nice, quiet, family oriented place. It was very peaceful and guests are respectful of space and noise. It has a friendly culture. The gentlemen in the office were kind and helpful.

The playground and lake are very minimal, and the Nature Center was closed while we were there.

The hikes surrounding hikes are short and easily accessible, as are the water fall hikes.

Nice campground. Quiet. And clean. Pretty much grass covering every campground, well kept fire rings for most sites. A variety of options in amount of tree coverage or proximity to bath house. Great for stargazing, visiting the falls, and hiking in surrounding areas. Also nearby Marathon gas station was open til 10pm for last minute goods. Watch out for the deer as I saw about 15 in a 2 mile stretch between the campground and the gas station after the sunset. There were families with kids and a few couples, but nobody was really loud. Stayed there June 2017 on a Sunday night.
